Program

TEENS WITH TOTS offers support and educational child care services to teen parents and their children. Support services are provided by a clinical social worker and include psycho-educational/support groups, parent/child activity sessions, and individual and family counseling, as needed.

Our childcare programs provide a warm, supportive, and supervised setting where a child can interact with other children and develop meaningful relationships with other adults. Each child is encouraged to participate in age-appropriate activities that enhance physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.  More information about our child care options can be found at www.coleharrington.com or www.coleharringtonfccs.org

Enrollment

TEENS WITH TOTS (TWT) is open to teen parents up to age 20, who meet income and service need guidelines as specified by Massachusetts‘ Department of Early Education and Care.  Eligibility requirements include enrollment in high school or a GED program or higher education and/or employment. Funding for TWT is provided at no cost to teens.

Once enrolled, teens may stay in the program until they turn 20. Children can continue to receive subsidized child care as provided by Massachusetts‘ Department of Early Education and Care. Parent fees for child care are then assessed based on income level.

Teen Parent Participation

TWT offers individual, family, and group counseling sessions to all teens enrolled in the program. The individual and family sessions are structured to support each teen‘s specific developmental needs for growth and well-being. TWT‘s psycho-educational groups cover a variety of topics, such as: balancing school, work and family; money management; family planning; nutrition education; domestic violence; substance abuse prevention; and parent education.  TWT also offers parent/child activity sessions to support healthy parent/child interactions for children‘s optimal development.

Transportation is available to parents  to support their participation in the program.
